समाचार एजेंसी सिन्हुआ ने टिलरसन के हवाले से बताया, "मिस्र के लोगों को विश्वास करना चाहिए कि अमेरिका आतंकवाद के खिलाफ युद्ध में मिस्र का सहयोग करने और मिस्र के लोगों की सुरक्षा के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है।"
